Founded in 1996, OMSK is a collective of film-makers, performers, writers and musicians who organise platforms for emerging artists to show their work and for more established artists to try something new in front of a live and discerning audience. With previous venues including banks, boats and archways, OMSK now takes over the South London Gallery for the launch of the OMSKBOOK.

This publication celebrates the activities of OMSK over the last decade working with 60 emerging and established artists whose practices involve performance, sound and moving image. OMSKBOOK is an art object which also offers a critical overview of an exciting period of change within live art culture. To celebrate the launch, this special event includes a panel discussion on Live Art and Film hosted by Talkaoke with guests including Helen De Witt; film screenings include moving image work by artists Andrew Kötting, Mairead McClean and Oriana Fox; plus a characteristic evening of performance, sound and mayhem. OMSKBOOK will be available at the special launch price of £11.99 (usual price £14.99).

In the lead up to the launch, cultural maverick and magician aladin will conjure up a magical, viral trail to entice participation in the event. UP (Untitled Provocation) is a modest experiment in urban social topography, a scrap of London re-mapping and re-visioning through random trawls across day to day discourses.
