Director Djibril Diop Mambety's final film centres on an illiterate girl’s quest for financial independence on the outskirts of Dakar.The screening is followed by an open discussion about disability and empowerment in Africa.
A short profile directed by Sophie Williams about Paralympians from Ghana, is also shown at this screening and members of the Ghanaian paralympic team will be our special guests.
Organised in partnership with Right to Dream, a professional sports, education and leadership academy in Ghana.

The South by South film programme showcases work made by artists living and working in Africa every third Friday of the month and is curated in partnership with Joseph Adesunloye in association with Africa 2.0 and the Royal African Society.
The film screenings are part of the wider South by South programme, which also includes an annual residency and education project, and celebrates the work of artists and film-makers from the global south in relationship to the local context of the SLG in South London.
