The South London Gallery is a distinctive and elegant setting for a range of private functions, receptions and corporate events. As a registered charity, all income generated from venue hire directly supports the gallery’s education and artistic programmes. Our charges start from £400+VAT for a half-day booking.

CLORE STUDIO

Designed by 6a architects, the Clore Studio forms part of the gallery’s 2010 expansion which received a New London Architecture Award. Situated behind the main gallery building at the far end of the Fox Garden, the space is a contemporary and stylish setting for both daytime and evening events.

The Clore Studio is illuminated from above by a skylight and has fully pivoting doors which open out onto the gallery’s spacious rear garden. The space can also be blacked out for film screenings, talks and presentations. 

With capacity for 60 seated or 90 standing, the Clore Studio is the perfect setting for a training course, away day, product and media launch, photo shoot, dinner party, drinks reception, or wedding and civil partnership ceremony and celebration.

The Clore Studio is available to hire in the day and evening Monday to Sunday, except on Wednesday and Thursday evenings when bookings must end by 4pm.

 

DOUBLE HEIGHT ROOM

Situated on the ground floor of the SLG's extention, the double height room overlooks the beautiful Fox Garden. This light and airy contemporary space was opened in June 2010 and it is adorned with artist Paul Morrison’s striking gold leaf wall drawing, Asplenium. The room has a long antique oak table which seats 18, ideal for meetings and dining.

The double height room is available for hire when the café is closed to the public: Sunday to Tuesday evenings and all day Mondays.  The double height room can also be hired in conjunction with the Clore Studio on Bank Holiday Mondays.
