The South London Gallery is a distinctive and elegant setting for a range of private functions, receptions and corporate events. As a registered charity, all income generated from venue hire directly supports the gallery’s education and artistic programmes. Our charges start from £600+VAT for a half-day booking.

The gallery's Clore Studio can be used for:

  • Marriage and civil partnership ceremonies
  • Wedding receptions
  • Canapé receptions
  • Parties
  • Private dinners
  • Filming and photo shoots
  • Conferences
  • Product launches
  • Presentations
  • Away-days
  • Meetings
  • Film screenings

Designed by 6a architects, the Clore Studio forms part of the gallery’s 2010 expansion which received a New London Architecture Award. Situated behind the main gallery building at the far end of the Fox Garden, the space is a contemporary and stylish setting for both daytime and evening events with capacity for up to 60 guests.

The Clore Studio is illuminated from above by a skylight and has fully pivoting doors which open out onto the gallery’s spacious rear garden. The space can also be blacked out for film screenings, talks and presentations.

The Clore Studio is available to hire in the day and evening Tuesday to Sunday, except on Wednesday and Thursday evenings when bookings must end by 4pm.

Evening bookings must end by 11pm.

For weddings, civil partnership ceremonies and receptions please note that you can hire the Clore Studio for your ceremony or reception but not both.

We are currently accepting bookings of the Clore Studio up to and including Sunday 7 September 2014.
