The SLG provides a range of activities and events for young people. The Art Assassins, the SLG’s young people’s forum, is led by young people aged 13-21 and meets weekly. They run their own events and activities based around the SLG’s exhibition programme.

May 2010 saw the launch of the Louis Vuitton Young Arts Project which is a partnership between Louis Vuitton, the SLG and four other London art institutions: the Hayward Gallery, Royal Academy, Tate Britain and Whitechapel Gallery. The project encompassed an annual summer academy, visits to exhibitions and events, and the development of a new website called REcreative by young people to share views and ideas about contemporary art with their peers. The project gave participants the opportunity to learn new skills and work alongside artists, collectors and gallery staff. This collaboration has now ended.

The SLG now run the REcreative website and lead the REcreative Editorial Board
