Join us for a free, drop-in workshop for families! Create your own wearable architectural designs out of cardboard, colourful tape and paper with artist Rhiannon Hunter.
Experiment with shape, pattern, construction and design, taking inspiration from the South London Gallery’s unique buildings. There will also be a chance to play with light to create projections and draw large-scale 2D buildings.
ABOUT
Sunday Spot are free workshops that take place on the last Sunday of the month. Sessions are self-directed and designed for families with children aged 5-12 years old. The space is supported by the SLG’s Art and Play team.
ABOUT RHIANNON HUNTER
Rhiannon is a visual artist based in South East London whose work explores relationships between people, places and how we tell stories about the constructed or ‘natural’ environments which we experience.
She is interested in how the materiality of our surroundings can be reimagined and interpreted through a lens of curiosity and relationship building. She uses film, sculpture, text, sound and participation to explore these ideas.
Rhiannon is studying an MFA Goldsmiths College, University London where she graduated BA Textiles. She is a graduate of the Florence Trust Residency program London 2019, London Creative Network Space Studios 2019, and has undertaken residencies in Denmark 2018, Toma Rum Sweden, and been commissioned to make works for Signal Film and Media 2021, Festival Stoke 2020, Big Family Press Heritage Program for South London Gallery, 2019. Rhiannon regularly runs workshops with young people in gallery and educational settings.
