The South London Gallery (SLG) blends award-winning contemporary architecture with Victorian elegance with venues spanning two sites only 120 metres apart. Located in the heart of Camberwell and Peckham, we are pleased to offer a range of distinctive spaces for private functions, receptions, corporate events, commercial filming and photo shoots. Spaces for hire at our main site are now complemented by stunning new facilities at our new venue at a former Fire Station which opened in September 2018.

As a registered charity, all income generated from venue hire directly supports our education and artistic programmes.

Please note, from January 2023 for about 18 monhts the Clore Studio, Fox Reception and Orozco Garden will only be available for evening hire (6-11pm).

Clore Studio and Orozco Garden, Main Building

Our most popular space for large events and weddings has capacity for 60 guests seated or 90 guests standing. This contemporary studio overlooks the Gabriel Orozco Garden, designed by the artist in 2016 in collaboration with 6a architects and botanists from Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. The Clore Studio is a licensed venue for marriages and civil ceremonies. Available to hire weekdays from 9am until 11pm, and from 6pm until 11pm on Saturday and Sunday. Catering is provided by the gallery’s café-restaurant, Crane’s Kitchen, for events for less than 30 people and Social Pantry cater for events for 30 or more people, offering a range of delicious menu options.

The Fox Reception, Main Building

This light-filled room overlooking the Orozco Garden is suitable for meetings, away days and wedding ceremonies for up to 16 guests. Available to hire weekdays from 9am until 6pm. It is also available for hire in conjunction with the Clore Studio from 6pm until 11pm on Saturday and Sunday. A range of brunch, lunch and dinner options are offered by the gallery’s café-restaurant, Crane’s Kitchen.

The Kitchen, Fire Station

On the second floor of the former Fire Station we are pleased to offer a stunning Kitchen events space for day-time and evening events. With seating for 10 guests, this is the perfect setting for away days, meetings and intimate dinner parties.

Trusthouse Gallery, Fire Station

Adjoining the Fire Station Kitchen is the Trusthouse Gallery. With capacity for 30 guests standing, this is a flexible space for events in conjunction with the Kitchen.

Private Dining in the Double Height Room, Crane’s Kitchen

If you are planning a dinner party for up to 20 guests seated or 50 standing, the Double Height Room in the gallery’s café-restaurant is available for private dinning after 7pm daily.* You can also combine it with the front cafe space to accommodate 40 seated or 70 standing.
