Watch a new series of interviews with people who either belong to the Windrush generation or are direct descendants of the Windrush generation. Produced by 948 Collective.

The project, Windrush Legacies, is designed to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Windrush through a contemporary lens. It considers the experiences of those who came to Britain during the Windrush period and the influence they’ve had on Britain’s creative and cultural landscape today, from the perspective of British-Caribbeans.

The video series will be available to watch in the South London Gallery’s Fox Reception on 24 and 25 June.

ABOUT 948

Founded by children of migrants, 948 is a subversive collective operating at the intersection of culture and creativity.

In the 75 years since the arrival of Empire Windrush, we’re exploring how the changing British landscape has affected cultural and creative expression today; while considering what has come before and what will come after.

Aiming to provide a global network to creatives from all walks of life in the digital, physical + imagined space, 948 works specifically to address social, political + cultural issues through initiative – based projects and other digestible mediums.
