Free, save time by registering in advance
Explore colour and movement in this workshop led by Emma Ogawa Todd.
Play with a natural dyed colour wheel parachute made in a previous family workshop.
There will also be the opportunity to make your own zig zag journey book using handmade natural dyed paper. Tell your own story, real or imagined through collages and natural inks.
In this workshop we will be using natural dyes made from fruits and vegetables. Participants are encouraged to wear old clothes, that they don’t mind getting a little messy.
Suitable for children aged 5–12 years with their parents and carers.

ABOUT EMMA OGAWA TODD
Emma Ogawa Todd explores cultural intersections and indigenous beliefs of Shintoist cosmology. Tracing family histories and archives, she integrates cross-cultural symbolism of her mixed Japanese-English heritage into her work. She uses found and natural materials, influenced by the belief in kami (spirits in all things) to explore ways of coexisting with the environment. These animist principals guide her interest in cyclical relationships with the land, which she channels through processes like foraging, upcycling, natural dyeing, carving, weaving, and stitching.
