Join Heritage Programme Assistant Jade Onojeruo and The Feminist Library for a tour of the local area.
Originally known as the Women’s Research and Resources Centre, The Feminist Library was founded in 1975 during the height of the second wave of the Women’s Liberation Movement. In 2019 the library will move into the Sojourner Truth Community Centre in Peckham. Coinciding with Women’s History Month, this tour will explore the story of The Feminist Library and why it is still necessary to have feminist spaces today.
This tour will last for approximately 45 minutes and will depart from the SLG Fire Station Archive at 12pm.
Supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
The Feminist Library is a space where researchers, activists and interested members of the public can learn about and make feminist history. The Feminist Library is entirely run by volunteers and so is always looking for activists and feminists to get involved in any capacity. For more information please visit The Feminist Library website.
