Maggie Lee’s Mommy is a portrait of the artist’s mother before and after her unexpected death. Returning to New Jersey to renovate and sell her childhood home, Maggie discovers secret artefacts from her mother’s life. This is a documentary about the relationship between a mother and daughter before and after death, the shared struggle for love and independence, and a young artists coming-of-age.

The film screening will be followed by a Q&A with the artist. The evening is hosted in conjunction with Arcadia Missa.

BIOGRAPHY

Maggie Lee (b.1987, New Jersey, USA) studied at Pratt Institute, lives and works in New York. She has exhibited internationally at spaces including Real Fine Arts, Whitney Museum, Greene Naftali, Lomex, Kunsthalle Zürich, Schloss and New Museum. She has an upcoming solo show at Arcadia Missa, London, September 2018.
