Join artist Lily Holder for the last in this series of Wednesday evening classes introducing the practice of life drawing.

Experiment with different techniques to create work that captures the energy, physicality and “life” of our models with bold and confident marks, as well as learning technical skills to draw from the figure.

Topics include:

  • building up observation skills
  • capturing light and shadow
  • tackling hands, feet and the head
  • placing the figure in a context
  • and how to simplify complex information.

The atmosphere for this course is relaxed, with an emphasis on experimentation. Suitable for those with no prior experience as well as those wishing to further their practice.

Ticket prices include all materials, boards and paper.

SLG Skills is a new series of courses and workshops taking place in the beautiful Fire Station Kitchen and adjacent Gallery 4. Any surplus income from ticket sales will help support the SLG’s extensive education programme.
