Art Monthly editor Patricia Bickers will be in conversation with ‘How to Write About Contemporary Art’ author Gilda Williams.
This second volume of the popular Talking Art series covers the years 2007 to 2016. The publication comprises the best of Art Monthly’s interviews with some 65 artists, ranging from Marina Abramovic to Artur Zmijewski, which together provide an entertaining and alternative history of art. Additional interviewees include Christian Marclay, Glenn Ligon, Susan Hiller, Seth Siegelaub, John Baldessari, Fiona Banner, Ryan Gander, Hito Steyerl, Mark Leckey and Sturtevant, among many others.
Since it was founded in 1976 the magazine has consistently published interviews with leading contemporary artists. The collection brought together here offers unique insights into the thought processes and working practices of artists, as well as evolution of the form of the interview.
