The SLG is seeking Community & Learning Programme Assistants to work at Art Block with the children and the SLG team to provide a creative, social and safe space for children and adults to socialise and make new friends.

South London Gallery (SLG) is recruiting for casual Communities & Learning Programme Assistants to work at Art Block sessions, which run Wednesday – Friday, 3pm – 6pm.

Job Title:           Communities & Learning Assistant (Art Block)
Hours:                3pm-6pm
Salary:                £13.28 per hour
Reports to:        Communities & Learning Programme Manager (Art Block)

About the Role

As a Communities & Learning Assistant, your role will be to work with children aged 6-16 who are participating in the Art Block sessions. You will help to ensure Art Block is a creative, social, and safe space for children to make and play. Art Block sessions are busy and active, and you will switch between different roles in the session including: Register, creative activity, physical activity and refreshments.   

You will need to be confident at engaging children aged 6-16, be responsive to their needs and able to work as part of a team. We will offer you training and development in skills such as first aid.
