Open Call: Join our youth collective

Join the South London Gallery’s youth collective, the Art Assassins, to take part in workshops with artists, network with other creatives, explore your own practice and get experience working with a contemporary art gallery. 

You’ll be supported by artists, SLG staff, and local industry experts, to explore new ideas and develop skills. Join our small and social group of young people in south London. 

Along the way you’ll meet new people, get exclusive access behind the scenes at arts institutions and artist studios, learn about creative careers, and have fun!

ABOUT YOU 

You must be aged 16-21 living, working or studying in south London. Priority will be given to young people living in Southwark. 

You don’t need to have any experience, but enthusiasm, eagerness to work in a team, and passion is a must!   

IMPORTANT DATES 

Meetings: Fortnightly on Tuesdays 5-7pm at the South London Gallery, or another location in London. Artist workshops confirmed for 13 June, 20 June and 4 July.

WHAT ARE PREVIOUS PARTICIPANTS UP TO NOW?  

Past participants of the South London Gallery’s youth programme have gone on to:  

  • Part-time paid work in the South London Gallery in the front of house team   
  • Opportunity to produce a public event, Who’s On It, at the South London Gallery in March 2023 
  • Freelance paid work for arts organisations across London including, South London Gallery and the Drawing room.  
  • Work as freelancer graphic designer  
  • Exhibiting artwork in Bloomberg New Contemporaries  
  • Self-publishing their own zines and creating events  
  • Study at leading universities such as University of the Arts London, The Ruskin School of Art and Kings College, University of London
