Join us for a free, drop-in workshop for families! This special event marks Black History Month and celebrates the last weekend of Lagos, Peckham, Repeat.

Suitable for children aged 5–12 years with their parents and carers.

Dress up as your favourite hero for this creative drawing session with illustrator Chi! Heroes can be real – like Baroness Doreen Lawrence, Marcus Rashford, and Munroe Bergdorf. Or they could be made up like Storm, Black Panther and Spider-Woman.

Family Space is a programme of free workshops that take place on the last Saturday of the month. Sessions are self-directed and designed for families with children aged 5-12 years old. The space is supported by the SLG’s Art and Play team.

Chioma aka Chi or Chi-Chi (he/they/she) is a proud Nigerian-British illustrator, storyboard artist and facilitator based in London. Some of their clients include Barbican, Southbank Centre, Tate Modern, and Black Blossoms. They are also a professional geek, which informs and inspires their creative and youth practice. Their designs combine digital and traditional media, showcasing joy and underrepresented stories.

The room is likely to be noisy.
The activity is not seated. Chairs are available upon request.
Ear plugs, ear defenders, magnifying glasses and wheelchairs are all available.

The workshop is free and drop-in any time from 11am-1pm. No booking required. Places are available on a first come, first served basis.
